The American landing and logistic at Omaha Beach
Called, before the war, “The Golden Beach,” Omaha Beach became, on the morning of June 6, 1944, one of the deadliest of the five beaches in the Allied assault.
This visit will give you the opportunity to understand why the Americans had such difficulty capturing this beach, facing a German defender determined to repel every assault. Overlooked by the Normandy American Cemetery, this beach is now known as “Bloody Omaha.”
