General terms and conditions
Article 1: Purpose
These general terms and conditions of sale (“GTC”) govern the services provided by the independent tour guide, Normandy Chronicles (hereinafter referred to as “the Service Provider”), to its clients (hereinafter referred to as “the Client”). These conditions apply to all reservations and services made via the website, by phone, by email or any other form of communication.
Article 2: Services
The Service Provider offers tour guiding services. These services include guided visits to tourist sites, personalized tours, and visits to local producers. Specific details of the services will be defined at the time of booking. All services, except for the “2-hour Discoveries,” take place in the Client’s vehicle.
Article 3: Reservation
Bookings for services can be made by phone, email, or through the Service Provider’s website. The reservation is confirmed upon receipt of the deposit or full payment, in accordance with the conditions set out below.
Article 4: Prices and Payment Terms
The prices for services are quoted in euros and are inclusive of taxes. The Service Provider reserves the right to modify its prices at any time but agrees to charge the Client the price specified at the time of confirmation. The prices include the guiding service. The guide’s meal expenses are included in the prices. Other fees may be added to the service (entry fees for local producers, Client’s meals) and must be paid directly by the Client. The remaining balance for the service must be paid before the start of the service.
Payment for the services is made via bank transfer or credit card.
Article 5: Deposit and Cancellation
A deposit of 30% of the total service price will be requested at the time of booking. The deposit is non-refundable if the Client cancels less than 15 days before the scheduled service date.
If the Client cancels more than 15 days before the service, the deposit will be fully refunded.
If the Service Provider cancels the service, the deposit will be fully refunded to the Client.
Article 6: Service Provider’s Obligations
The Service Provider agrees to provide a high-quality service in accordance with the Client’s expectations as defined at the time of booking. The Service Provider will strive to respect the agreed-upon schedule and adapt the service to the Client’s specific needs whenever possible.
Article 7: Client’s Obligations
The Client agrees to respect the schedule and arrive at the meeting point at the agreed time. The Client must inform the Service Provider of any special information (physical limitations, etc.) that may affect the service.
The Client must also adhere to the safety instructions provided by the Service Provider during the entire service.
The Client agrees to comply with road traffic regulations.
Article 8: Liability
The Service Provider shall not be held responsible for accidents or incidents occurring during the service, except in cases of negligence or failure to meet its obligations.
The Service Provider’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the service, excluding any compensation for indirect damages.
The Service Provider is not authorized to drive the Client’s vehicle.
The Service Provider has professional liability insurance.
Article 9: Force Majeure
The Service Provider shall not be held liable for any inability to perform the service due to circumstances beyond its control (force majeure), such as unforeseen and unavoidable events (natural disasters, strikes, social conflicts, etc.).
Article 10: Protection of Personal Data
The personal data collected during the booking process is used solely for managing the service. The Service Provider agrees to maintain the confidentiality of this information and not disclose it to third parties, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Article 11: Disputes and Governing Law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the Client and the Service Provider will attempt to reach an amicable resolution. Failing this, any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the city where the Service Provider’s registered office is located.
Article 12: Acceptance of Terms
The Client acknowledges having read and accepted these general terms and conditions of sale at the time of booking.
